This gold medal-winning equestrienne shares how she manages life with the little ones–and how they’ve taught her to be a better woman.
Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski lives a busy, busy life—so much so, in fact, that even her husband, Pasig congressman Robert “Dodot” Jaworski, couldn’t understand her drive in the early days of their marriage. “[Dodot] would say, ‘How can you be a good mom if ang dami mong ginagawa?’” Mikee shares in the April 2010 issue of Good Housekeeping. “Ang sinasabi ko naman, I need to believe in myself in order to …
MANILA, Philippines—We asked some celebrity moms about the subject at hand. What they said in different ways bore the same sentiments:
1) Pre-screen the shows your children will watch, if possible.
2) Sit and watch with them, if you care to find the time.
3) Be consistent and vigilant, if you don’t want to lose your authority to imaginary heroes. Not even to Superman.

I’d like to think Dodot and I are in control of what our kids watch on TV. There are only …

He’s the couple’s third child, following Robert, 8, and Rafael, 6. Mikee’s manager Girlie Rodis says Renzo "looks hefty and, at 21 inches, is quite a big boy." People’s imaginations started flying the day after Mikee and Dodot called us to say, "We want to get married."
With the pamanhikan over, we discussed specific details and compromises.
There was no compromise for the following: Inno Sotto for the bridal entourage; photographers: Raymond Isaac and Eddie Boy Escudero; makeup artists and hairstylists: Mila Garces, Jerome …
She was a vision of delight. Just like any bride on her wedding day. In the hubbub that was the Cojuangco household that frantic Sunday evening, Mikee’s chamber was an oasis of tranquility. While her mother patiently attended to the endless little details that seemed to multiply at the last minute, there she sought refuge, unusually composed, as the hour drew nearer to her altar …
Her first attempt, made a year and a half ago in Manila, went like this: "Mabait siya, Mom." From Hong Kong six months later, it would be "I really love him." The most successful try, however, would come from Paris days after.
"I want to marry Dodot," Mikee told her dad with great difficulty.
She had been sitting by her ninang Peachie (Prieto) when the news was relayed. At that moment, Mikee was grasping Peachie’s hand so tightly, it seemed the blood stopped flowing from her ninang’s fingertips.
The succeeding days saw our …
ANTICIPATION AND BLISSFUL CERTAINTY AS THEY AWAIT THEIR ALTAR DATE
How do you know if a guy is hell-bent on marrying the girl of his dreams?
When Dodot Jaworski went shopping for an engagement ring in Hong Kong, he impulsively purchased the first band that caught his fancy. Entering a second shop, he found another that he liked even better. Horror of horrors–he couldn’t return the first one anymore! He brought the second ring home anyway.
Vichy, France – Mikee and I have the same first love. Luckily, he was a four-legged beast and not a two-legged one, otherwise it would have caused a lot of problems between us.
Mikee and I met when we were 10 years old. We were both crazy in love with horses and as early as then we both knew what we wanted: to be the best equestriennes in the Philippines, …
ONE of the bonuses of this job is the privilege of seeing people go through transition, like watching them grow from children (no, that’s too much) to pretty young women. Some see it as us growing old, we prefer to see it as the upside of covering interesting and evolving people. Like Mikee Cojuangco.
I first met Mikee as a 16-year-old student of Colegio de San Agustin. I was supposed to be her initiation to media. The doyenne of trendy merchandising (Sanrio, Gift Gate, Swatch) Virgie Ramos set up …
Something classic. That’s the kind of wed-ding that awardwinning equestrienne, actress and Young Star writer Mikee Cojuangco wants when she walks down the aisle with basketball heartthrob Dodot Jaworski on July 30 at the Manila Cathedral.
"That’s exactly what I also want for them," explains the mother of the bride, beauteous former Tarlac Gov. Tingting Cojuangco.
Thus, even if wedding plans had already been in the agenda of Mikee and Dodot last year and their parents had informally given their blessing, the Jaworskis still went for the traditional pamanhikan in …
